The Story Behind Go Salad Recipe

Hi, I’m Jessica and honestly, I used to think salads were kind of… sad.
You know the kind I mean: a handful of limp lettuce, maybe a tomato, drowned in dressing to make up for the lack of excitement. I’d eat them because I “should,” not because I actually wanted to.
That changed one summer afternoon when I was visiting a friend in California. She tossed together this bowl of greens, grilled peaches, goat cheese, pistachios and I swear, it was like a flavor explosion I didn’t know a salad could be. I went home, bought way too many vegetables, and started playing around.
That was the start of Go Salad Recipe, although it didn’t have a name then. I was just experimenting, messing up a lot, and occasionally making something that made me say, “Wait… this is really good.” My husband is my taste-tester (he’ll eat anything if I say there’s bacon in it), and my kids have become surprisingly opinionated about vinaigrettes.
This blog is where I share the hits, the easy ones, the weirdly addictive ones, and the ones that made me text three people because “you have to try this.” Some are super healthy. Some are borderline indulgent. But all of them are salads I’d actually look forward to eating.
If you’re here because you’re bored with the same old greens, or trying to eat more vegetables without feeling punished, you’re in good company. I’ve been there. Let’s make salad the best part of the meal, not the side you suffer through.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you find something fresh to fall in love with.
